This is Emma Woodhouse. She is the main character and is very professional. Although she may seem a little pretentious at times, she truly is down-to-earth and caring. She loves her sister, Isabel or Izzy, and her brother-in-law, who is Alex Knightley's brother. While it may seem that she is the teacher and the mentor in the web series, it turns out that she is also the student too. |
This is Harriet Smith. When she first applied to the job she was shy, but responsible. Over the course of the series, she decided to improve her life and not be afraid to yell "Hell yes!" while wearing high heels. She dealt with heartbreak, unexpected romances, and unrequited love. Will she ever be happy? |
Alex Knightley is Emma Woodhouse's family friend. In the Emma Approved company, he seems to be the practical and sensible one (but not say that Emma isn't practical or sensible). He's hardworking and like the boy next door. What Emma doesn't know is that he is able to have romantic feelings for a certain girl... |
Hey this is Bobby Martin! (Or B-Mart as he calls himself.) He's the IT guy that Alex hired to fix the computers. When he meets Harriet for the first time, he absolutely becomes smitten with her and asks her out via a video and asks her if she would embark the 1000 paper cranes quest with him. Will she say yes to him? |

This web series is wonderful! I laughed and cried (a lot) in a lot of episodes and this show holds a place in my heart. What's really cool is that we can see that Emma Approved is a "real" company. Emma posts her lifestyle excellence tips and fashion ideas on her website. I really like the outfits because I sometimes get inspiration. These outfits are truly inspirational because they show that you can express yourself while wearing professional, workplace clothes without looking bland.
I've never heard of Jane Austen's Emma until after watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. In fact this was developed by the same person. I really enjoy how there are people out there who are continuing Jane Austen's story by modernizing it. This really shows how classic novels written in the 1800s are not boring and still relevant today.
There are about 72 episodes in this whole web series. Watch the first video below!

Hi everyone! This is my first blog post about web series! I usually write about traditional TV shows that appear on actual TV, but I thought I would share this with you! Web series are similar to TV shows, as they regularly post episodes. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. If you would like more posts similar to this, please let me know in the comments below! Happy binging!
This web series is based on the story of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen in the modern day. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bennet is a graduate student who majors in mass communications is forever annoyed by her mother's attempts to find a husband for her. She and two sisters, Jane and Lydia, meet Bing Lee, William Darcy, Ricky Collins, and George Wickham along with Lizzie's best friend Charlotte Lu as they face hardships, scandalous intentions, and unexpected romances.
Call me nerdy, but I love classic novels. Pride and Prejudice was the first classic novel I ever read and it still is one of my favorite stories. (Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is my favorite book, just in case if you were wondering.) Okay, it is a romance story, but it's acclaimed for a reason! It's not your ordinary romance novel. It's a better love story than Twilight. (To be honest, every love story is a better love story than Twilight.)

This is Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bennet. She's your cool older sister who is really responsible. As the middle child, she has to deal with her younger sister Lydia and try to be more like her sister Jane. She totally a book nerd and loves to rant about her daily affairs by documenting them with videos. She recalls the events that happened by playing theater with costumes and impressions of her friends and enemies. |
This is Charlotte Lu. (She is based off of Charlotte Lucas, Elizabeth's best friend.) She is the same age as Lizzie and edits her videos. When Charlotte isn't helping Lizzie with the videos, she works with Ricky Collins at Collins&Collins, despite Lizzie's opposition. She has a younger sister named Maria Lu. |
This is Jane Bennet. She is the sweetest girl ever and loves Pinterest boards and tea. Jane is the oldest sister in the Bennet family and has a crush on Bing Lee, the man who also happens to be the one her mom wants her daughters to have. Although she is quiet and shy, she can be outspoken and have strong opinions. |
This is Lydia Bennet. She's cool. She's quirky. She's all about the adorbs. (In this adaptation, Lydia is 20 years old instead of 15 years old, which makes the modern day version more realistic.) As the youngest child, she is rebellious and loves to party. Despite all that extroversion, Lydia is a down-to-earth girl who loves her sisters. |
Bing Lee is the rich, single, (and hot) medical student at Netherfield. (He's the modern version of Mr. Bingley... you see what the writers did there?) He falls in love with Jane Bennet but his sister Caroline gets in the way to prevent that from happening because unlike the Lee family, the Bennets are not as well-off. |
Caroline Lee is based off of Caroline Bingley and is the mean girl. She gets envious of her brother's romance and affection with Jane Bennet so much that she tries to drive the two apart. Caroline tries to be close friends with Lizzie while she's filming her vlogs. But she tries to pry on Lizzie's life after William Darcy gives Lizzie a heart felt letter. |
Meet William Darcy. He is a robot. Not a literal robot, though. He's seen as stiff, proper, and prideful in the eyes of Lizzie. She hates him so much that she reenacts most of her "playing theater" skits with him wearing a red bow tie and a beret. Despite all that, Darcy is actually a sweetheart and somehow falls for Lizzie. (Dun dun dun....) |
This is Ricky Collins--or he would like to call himself "Mr. Collins". He is Lizzie's childhood friend and talks a tad bit too formally. (In the original story, Mr. Collins proposes to Elizabeth but she rejects him. He then proceeds to ask Charlotte and she agrees.) In the modern version, he asks Lizzie to work for his company: Collins&Collins. After Lizzie rejects the offer (despite offering a handsome salary), Charlotte takes the job. |
This is George Wickham. You may think: "Wow this guy is really fine!" Yes, he is. (In the original story, Wickham is a soldier who captivates Elizabeth's attention and runs off with Lydia.) In this story, Wickham and Darcy have a feud. It's more like a family feud. With the two resenting each other, Wickham takes advantage of Lydia. I have to say that Wickham is a bad man. Too bad he's good looking and a swim coach. |

Since this story is based on a classic novel, some people may not enjoy or understand the allure. I recommend this to everyone! It's such a great spin on a classic novel! This truly is a great web series and it made me laugh and cry throughout the whole series. The web series is complete and you can watch the entire playlist on Youtube.
